Presents... ANSI Doodle v1.0
By: Sam Shafritz
Beta Tester: Walter Bowen
Introduction
ANSI Doodle is by no means meant to be a comparable ANSI Screen editor to
such programs as ANSI Mouse or TheDraw. Just about the only thing its got
going for itself is that fact that it's an external. There are some major
problems with the effiency of ANSI Doodle. Nevertheless, the important
thing to keep in mind is that it was created as a "fun" external.
Notes
˘ For information on how to use ANSI Doodle, review the online Help file by
hitting "H" in ANSI Doodle.
˘ The arrow keys will work locally but not remotely.
Features that might be in the next version
˘ A prompt that accepts a character, but does not print it to the screen (like
the Main Menu Prompt with Hermes). It accepts Char(15) & Char(20), Control-o
and control-t respectively. You do not see a or a when you hit either
one of them. This is so important because it would allow me not to have to
make every command letter/# get "eaten up" by a space right before the
action it represents is executed. This means you could move your cursor
along without it erasing whatever it touches!
˘ A save/recall feature whereby the user could save his doodle to be recalled
later. Or, he could choose to save it as in //UPLOAD...the next post
or E-Mail would contain the doodle.
˘ Remote Arrow Keys!
˘ Reading the Help file would not erase the current doodle.
˘ The Doodle/Write Modes would be one and the same.
˘ An INSERT/TypeOver Mode feature.
˘ An Animation feature.
Thank You!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have registered
any of my externals. Without this kind of support I could never have made
so many... If some of you are wondering how much money I've made for all of
my programming endeavors, let me put it this way...it's just about enough to
pay my phone bill for calling the Support BBS and boards of all the users who
have registered.
Thank you to:
˘ Ethan Bernstein
˘ Walter Bowen
˘ Rob Bys
˘ The DAMUG
˘ Rick Falk
˘ Mike Flaminio
˘ John Gibbons
˘ Dave Hakim
˘ Adrian J.
˘ Eric Kobayashi
˘ I. Lunsk
˘ Chis Owen
˘ Rex Robertson
˘ Brian Spence
˘ Chris Toppan
˘ Zinn
A Special Thanks to Walter Bowen for his help in Beta Testing my externals,
editing docs and correcting my spelling.
FreeWare
ANSI Doodle v1.0 is totally free. Please feel free to use it on your board.
When and if I ever get v1.1 out with all/some of the above-mentioned features,
I plan to charge $5.00.
Got any ideas for a custom external you've been hankerin' for? Contact me!
If I know how to do it, or even if I don't know how to do it, I'll give it
a shot.
